NIC Plugfest
     
 

Ideas were brewing in Google’s office over the past few weeks. NIC Plugfest International Programming Competition and Showcase, an event organised by IEEE and Google Developer Group, kicked off its inaugural competition in February 2013 and ended with a prize giving ceremony on 3 April 2013. Participants were tasked to create professional and valuable web applications with publicly available data sets from data.gov.sg using mobile technologies and cloud computing.

@Work visit to EMC
     
 

Another exciting @Work visit to EMC on 6 July 2012 awed the group of students from NTU, NUS and TP. Getting to EMC’s premises at Changi was a little far for the students studying in the west, but it was all paid off with the insights we’ve gained from their laboratory. As we all know, EMC is a leading provider of storage hardware solutions that promote data recovery and improve cloud computing.

But what is more interesting is that their E-Lab conducts the industry’s most rigorous interoperability testing. You just have to be there to see if for yourself.

Event Coverage: 2012 MICA Scholarship Award Ceremony
     
 

Going up the glass elevator, we could can feel the excitement from the guests who are part of the prestigious event to honour our remarkable boys and girls in the industry. A hundred scholarships were awarded by the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) and its agencies – National Heritage Board, National Library Board, National Arts Council, Media Development Authority, DesignSingapore Council and the Infocomm Development Authority.
