Interview with Bryn Ho

Introducing the winner of What’s Your Talent, walking away with a Xbox 350 (250GB) and Microsoft Kinect…Bryn Ho!

Name: Bryn Shannon Ho Zhi Wen

Age: 17

School: Just graduated from Pei Cai Secondary School, entering Digital Media Design at Nanyang Polytechnic

Oli: Hey Bryn, congrats on winning this contest! Which part of the game did you like best?

Bryn: I liked the second part (Zack’s world) best. It was the easiest for me!

Oli: How did you manage to clinch the top score? Any tips or tricks to share (now that the contest is over)?

Bryn: At first, I did abit of strategic thinking to find out the highest possible score I could earn, it was around then (and many replays after) that I found out that each round was split into 4 groups of 5 questions each (a total of 20 questions), with these being randomized. This helped me alot for the first 3 rounds as I could split up the different answers I had for each group, which made it easier, even if I was simply guessing. A short while after that, I managed to fully compile the answers of each group/section and then it simply became a process of memorizing the answers per group, and memorizing which picture/question was linked to which answer.

Oli: Wow, sounds like you did quite a bit of research! Did you learn anything out of it?

Bryn: If there’s anything I learnt, I would say that not all applications are perfect. Sometimes it takes other people to use a programme or application to discover certain faults and bugs, and these people are one of the key components in making applications and programmes a success.

Oli: No doubt about that! Sounds like you really like infocomm, are you planning to work in the infocomm industry in future?

Bryn: I’m already trying to learn how to be a game designer. I do hope to be able to learn how to both draw and do programming in the future too. I love playing games. xD

Well, I just can’t wait to see what kind of games Bryn will come up with in future. Let’s see if I can beat his top score then…
