Program Description
As part of our Talent Attraction outreach to students for the infocomm industry, IDA co-ordinates visits to top organisations in Singapore. Through the Infocomm @ Work Programme, we hope to give students a sneak preview into life as an infocomm professional and to experience the dynamism of the Infocomm Industry.
Over 350 students had benefitted from the programme in 2009, and most of them were so amazed by the use of technology behind the different businesses that they aspire to work in the infocomm field in the future.

Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. "Googol" is the mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros; Google’s play on the term reflects the company’s mission to organize the immense amount of information available on the web. Google’s founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, developed a new approach to searching for information online, starting their search engine in a Stanford University dorm room. Within a few years, information seekers around the globe were logging on to the new site.
Today, Google is a global technology leader focused on improving the ways people connect to information. Our innovations in web search, advertising and web applications have made our websites top Internet destinations and our brand one of the most recognized in the world.
During your visit you'll meet with engineers working on some really cool technology projects; learn more about computer science and what it takes to have a successful career in the field; hear about what makes Google so special; and take a tour around the office where work and play are not mutually exclusive, seeing firsthand what we mean when we say that it is possible to code and pass the puck at the same time.
