The InSkills@Work Programme

Objective
The inSkills@Work programme aims to equip professionals in all sectors with infocomm skills that will enable them to innovatively harness infocomm for work productivity and business competitiveness. The programme supports training courses and certifications that are specifically designed to leverage on the effective use of infocomm in key economic sectors.

Programme Description
The programme supports the course and examination fees for training courses and certifications in the following areas:
  • Generic enterprise infocomm skills
  • Sector-specific or job-related infocomm skills
  • Emerging infocomm skills
Benefits
The increasing strategic role of infocomm in businesses will imply a need for Singapore to continue raising the people’s capacity and capability to use infocomm effectively.  When employees are empowered through infocomm, their organisations benefit from continual innovations that contribute to greater market differentiation and long term sustainability.

Programme Support
  • Course Fee Support
    - Up to 50% of the nett payable course fee capped at S$2,500 per trainee per course.
  • Examination Fee Support
    - Up to 50% of the nett payable certification examination fee capped at S$500 per trainee

Note: Funding support excludes GST, registration and membership fees, rebates, discounts or any training grants offered by any other organisations, course providers or testing centres.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for funding support under CITREP, a trainee must:
  • Be a Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident.
  • Meet the admission criteria set by the Course Provider or Certificate Awarding Body.
  • Commence all training courses or certification examinations within the endorsement term.
  • Ensure that the endorsed course providers or testing centres have submitted their enrolments for their intended courses or certifications on their behalf in the iTRAIN system before the commencement of the training courses or certifications.
  • For Organisation-Sponsored Trainees: The sponsoring organisation must be incorporated or registered in Singapore.  Employees of Government Ministries, Department and Organs of State and employees of statutory boards, including Institutes of Higher Learning established by law, are not eligible.  Employees of these organisations can, however, qualify for funding support under the self-sponsored category.
  • For Course Fee Support: Complete at least 75% of the training course within 6 months from the course commencement date.
  • For Certification Examination Fee Support: Pass all the examinations required by the certification within 6 months from the commencement date of the 1st examination.

Application Procedure
IDA has developed an online system known as Infocomm Training Resources and Incentives on the Net (iTRAIN).  All course endorsements and claim applications must be submitted online via the iTRAIN system.  Manual application forms will not be accepted.

The sponsoring organisations and self-sponsored individuals must have a valid iTRAIN account to submit an online claim application. To apply for a new organisation or individual account, please click here.

Trainees
Trainees who wish to claim for funding support must submit their online claim applications to IDA via iTRAIN upon completion of the courses or upon passing all examination(s) required for certifications.
  • For Organisation-Sponsored Trainees, the claim application will be submitted by the
    sponsoring organisation.
  • For Self-Sponsored Trainees, the claim application has to be completed by the individual.
All claims must be submitted to IDA within one (1) month from the date of completion of the endorsed training courses or certifications.  Late submissions will not be accepted.  Applications with incomplete supporting documents will not be processed.
