Occupation Description Primary Purpose Plan, manage and evaluate the technical planning and installation of LANs/WANs. Manage and support the enterprise network and ensure system availability, security and capacity monitoring
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and prioritise the activities of the LAN/WAN, installation projects are completed according to agreed service levels, including creating scripts and configuring network servers.
- Design and develop wireless systems integrating prevailing and emerging wireless technologies
- Design and create software components using existing wireless standards
- Allocate and manage network accounts to ensure that appropriate levels of network access are allocated and complied with the appropriate standards and protocols
- Manage network resources to ensure the provision of support which meets the requirements of all the enterprise networks
- Create a secure networking environment by monitoring and reporting security breaches and any unauthorised data access
- Prepare, implement and monitor the disaster recovery and contingency plans
- Monitor network performance for reliability to assure minimum interruption in network service
- Identify, analyse and solve network problems to improve levels of service
- Assure timely recovery of service in event of outages
- Collect and collate data to produce network traffic reports for the purpose of planning changes in the network
Requirements
- At least 4 years experience in network solutions development and protocols, systems specifications and architecture
- Degree in Engineering (Electronics or Computing) or Computer Science
