I want to work in the large organisation in the IT service industry or banking and finance industry that provides consulting business solutions, technology services and delivering innovation using IT. I want to work for a Multi-national Corporation that values integrity, mutual respect and innovation. I want to work in the areas of developing business innovations and managing IT governance. I have a passion in IT because I enjoy challenging, problem solving by analytical thinking, creating and innovating new ideas with continuous improving technology.
- Ei Ei Min Thu, Microsoft Singapore

I hope to work for an organisation that values creativity and networks as a source of innovation and true corporate value. As a people-oriented person, I appreciate the power of the human mind to generate ideas and brilliance from normal scenarios. I would hope to be a consultant or a project manager who lead corporations and businesses to greater heights through innovations in both processes and business models, with IT as the enabler.

Overseas Internships
"Working in a foreign environment is also a challenge but I enjoyed myself thoroughly."-Hui Ting
Chiam Hui Ting, Intel Technology Asia Internship in Shanghai, China(May-August 2006)
My internship was with Intel Shanghai, where I assisted in the development of a Sample Tracking Program and a Design Win Tracking program , and communicated with Intel employees worldwide to gather feedback.
The working environment there is rather like Singapore, whereby everyone is hard at work during working hours. However, most people enjoy lunchtime by not talking about work related matters and going out to different places for lunch to enjoy themselves. There are also weekly badminton sessions organised by our team where colleagues bring their families along to play badminton and bond.
I visited most of the places of interest in Shanghai like the Bund, Zhou Zhuang and Su Zhou. I have also done some major shopping and went to massage parlors rather often as goods and services in Shanghai are relatively cheap. Weekends are free and I usually go out with some of my colleagues (who are single) to visit some new nice shops or eating places we have not visit before. Life was really enjoyable and I was rather sad when I finally ended my internship to return to Singapore.
The internship was the first time I was abroad alone for a long time and I really had to learn how to take care of myself. I had to learn how to be responsible for my own belongings, things like forgetting to bring keys can be a hassle. Working in a foreign environment is also a challenge. I needed to accustom myself to the culture in Shanghai. It was a fun experience nonetheless and I enjoyed myself thoroughly.

"I have met and interacted with a lot of people of different nationalities and cultures."-Weng Chew
Lo Weng Chew, IBM Singapore Internship in New York, USA (June-December 2005)
My internship was with IBM s Corporate Webmaster Team in Hawthorne, New York. The team works on applications presented on the IBM corporate website, so naturally, I was assigned tasks related to web development. I also had the chance to work closely with the lab manager where I learnt a lot about server and IBM applications. I was also involved in the development and deployment of IBM's first public wiki as well as creating utilities for the Webmaster Team.
The working environment is very open and casual at least where I was working. The workplace is spacious with a lot of whiteboards for discussion purposes. There's even a dedicated meeting room for the team. Almost everyone wears polo tees and jeans to work, some of my colleagues even wear bermudas to work during the summer.
Being my first time in New York, it was a must to visit the famous "Big Apple". I visited Statue of Liberty, Empire State building, Central Park, and watched a Yankees baseball match even though I didn't understand the game. I also had the chance to visit neighbouring states such as Connecticut and New Jersey. There was one time when I drove to Ithaca, New York with a Korean friend whom I met there and the trip took almost 12 hours to and fro. After that experience, we decided never to travel so far by car ever again!
I have gained a lot of technical knowledge and hands-on experience during my internship. Before that, I only had basic knowledge about web technology. This attachment provided me the perfect opportunity to learn about it as well as knowledge on servers and different server applications that IBM has. Other than work-related experience, I have also met and interacted with a lot of people of different nationalities and cultures. My best pal is an African American and he is also the lab manager that I worked closely with. Today, I'm based in the Software Development Lab in Singapore but am still working closely with the IBM Corporate Webmaster Team on ibm.com applications.

"My overseas internship has given me the experience of living and working in another country."-Wing Kwong
Wee Wing Kwong, NCS Internship in Sydney, Australia (March - July 2005)
I was attached to Optus located at North Sydney, Australia. I was assigned to assist the IT solution architect in coming up with various solutions for requirements from various customers.
My colleagues were very helpful and professional. Everybody knows what is wanted and required of each other, often this leads to better efficiency in getting things done right. When working there, I've noticed that most if not all the customers that I've handled understand what they want and always put their ideas in across in a very precise and clear manner, which I have learnt to appreciate.
For every weekend that I was there I always tried to plan to go on a tour such as Hunter Valley Wine Tour or Dolphin/Whale Watching Tour. The best experience I had was Tandem Sky Diving, which was exhilarating and you can hardly ever do back in Singapore. Through this trip, I managed to make friends with people from various countries such as Germany, Mexico, America, Ireland, etc.
My overseas internship has given me the experience of living and working in another country for a substantial amount of time. It is unlike a short overseas trip where you will only see some highlights. In this trip, it allowed me to find out more about various aspects of Australia culture and way of life.
