Speakers' Bio

Mr. Andrew McGlincey Product Manager, Google
Andrew graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Artificial intelligence and Cognitive Science.

About Andrew: Andrew's job as a product manager at Google means figuring out what internet users in Southteast Asia need most, and then working with a crack team of software engineers and other specialists to make that happen.

In his 14-year career in software so far, he has worked on web-based voice mail, artificial intelligence conversation bots, help documents that can automatically do what they describe, and software that makes videos automatically.  He has worked in both startups and big places like Microsoft and Nortel Networks.  At Google, he is helping to make products that millions of people use every day.

About Google: Google Southeast Asia's goal is to cause 'Googley' things happen in Singapore and other countries in Southeast Asia.  Partly that means getting the Google products and services to work well for users here - products like Google Maps, Google News, Image Search, Chrome, Translate, and more.  It also partly means promoting the Google philosophy: open standards for technology, serving users first, and helping the world benefit from the power of the internet.
